Care home residents have been taking part in the Armchair Gallery project increasing their access to digital arts.
The Armchair Gallery presents virtual visits to world class cultural venues through a series of bespoke films produced in partnership with Chatsworth House and Dulwich Picture Gallery. The films have been shown alongside a block of practical workshop sessions that aim to increase choice and active participation.
Approaches utilised within the workshops have been specifically developed for people living with dementia, with technology offering multisensory experiences, intuitive touchscreen participation and discussion tools (i.e.Timeslips).
This film shows a number of practical sessions that care home residents have taken part in. As a legacy of the project an Armchair Gallery App has been devised for use by care staff, activity co-ordinators, volunteers and family and friends.
