Older people’s views on Contemporary Arts

Nottingham Contemporary has been a key partner in the Imagine Programme as part of the Open Arts Forum strand of work. They have facilitated sessions with activity co-ordinators and older people from Sycamore and Millbeck, Melbourne and Park House care homes (The Abbeyfield Society and Eastgate Care).

Associate artists Gill Brent and Jo Dacombe have been working sensitively with residents exploring the contemporary arts in its many different forms, visiting exhibitions such as Pablo Bronstein and the Treasures of Chatsworth (The Grand Tour Season One) and Simon Starling (The Grand Tour Season Two).

The residents and staff got a lot out of the practical arts sessions and visits to Nottingham Contemporary and look forward to future opportunities.
